Default V2 Installed

I got my AEM V2 intake today in the mail (thanks mentaldis0rder), and installed it shortly thereafter.

Install took about an hour including running around digging up tools and taking a few beer breaks. The install went pretty smooth, the only thing that sucked was AEM didn't provide any gromets for the sensor and vent lines, and auto parts stores don't stock the exact size so I had to improvise.

I drove it around barhopping tonight and noticed that it did definately add some pep... nothing major but mid and upper range power is up noticeably. Don't forget this is my first and only mod, so it may have more of an effect if you have more mods. Bottom end torque seems unchanged. It's got a nice deep hum to it.

I'm hoping for a gain in mpg too, I'll be calculating that next week.

I'd give it a 10/10.

Once you switch to a an exhaust kit and new hi flow cat you will notice a little more hp that is complimented by the intake... then do headers. You'll definetly have an increase in hp

Yeah, catback is next. Then I'm going to spend a few bucks on some sound proofing and a system.

Then I'll go header and cat if I feel like it... but I don't want to get in too deep on this car.

I'm also thinking about wraping the intake pipe... it get's pretty hot during normal operation.

I took the car on a trip for the first time since the intake. Noticeable MPG increase, and wow, in 4th gear this intake really roars at WOT.

This is the intake that I am probably going to get eventually. I already have the exhaust and im sure that all this can do is help it out. By the way did you notice any increased throttle response? Noticible HP gains? or torque gains that you could feel right away?

Sounds great...The V2 was the one intake I was looking at the most, and I'll probably order after my next pay check...

Throttle response is up... top end power and mid range torque is up noticeably. Overall it really helped the entire power band.

the V2 is $300 and worth every stinkin penny! it looks great, sounds great, puts out great power, keeps the engine chilly chill! with a $40 intake, you take the risk of something breaking apart, its just a cheap product...you get what you pay for...AEM V2 = the way to go!
