Default VX engine mods...

Alright, i recently aquired a 92 honda HB vx 5 spd manuall...

The exterior is gorgeous but its slow as f*ck. I was lookin up specs today on it an apparently it has 92bhp?

Anyways i wondering if anyone would care to gimme any suggestions as far as simple mods, to increase horsepower by quite a bit.

Note: I will be getting a b16a swap done once i have the funds taken care of, which will be a while, any help now will be appreciated.

I wouldn't touch it until you're ready for the B swap. Save your money until you've got the heart in place, then spend what you have left over... Plus, VX's are lighter than f***, so that thing's gonna cook pretty good.

I know it's going to be tough, but you want to make sure you can keep everything kosher once the swap's done... then if you have extra bank, you can add to the swap. Plus, you don't want to have a bunch of parts for your old engine sitting around.

The one suggestion I would... well, suggest is to go for a full suspension overhaul and some new rubber. You can get good springs and dampers for around $400, and then you'll at least be able to outhandle anyone in the area (even if you can't keep up )

I swear by a set of H&R springs and some Tokico HP's or Illuminas (which are a bit pricey). It does depend on your driving style and what kind of ride you want though; if you're looking for something a little softer, try Eibach Sportline or Tein S-tech.
