Default WHy AEM CAI???

Why does everyone recomend aem CAI? the piping is made out of aluminum which conducts heat like a ****, why not get an iceman intake that is made out of a non conductive material? it just makes more sense to me, unless there is something im missing, the diameter of piping is the same I believe. So why would you want your cold air running through a hot pipe?

because the cold air gets more power out of the engine and higher MPGs.

some of the heat you get is coming from the intake manifold, so its taking the heat away from that and dispersing it faster. not a lot of it, but a little. If you are that worried about the heat, then a Hondata IM gasket and rerouting the coolant away from the throttle body will help a lot too. but AEM has a lot of flow testing in there intakes, and the tubes are tuned for each app. thats why they are always among the top of the intakes tested. not always the highest, but right up there. and at wide open throttle, the airflow in the tube cools it down a lot in a couple of seconds since its so thin, so it isnt as bad as it seems when you stop and open the hood and feel the intake tube.
