meaning the tranny will cook itself trying to rotate the wheels with his engine

unless the size of the rim itself is bigger than the stock wheel/tire combo.... we're talkin 15 in wheel stock, correct? how tall is the tire? 3-4 inches? i'd say its VERY likely 18's will throw the speedo off. trust me, i put 31 inch tires on my bronco and 30 inch on my dodge.... it will throw the speedo off, not like it really matters though.

I have a 92 Civic Hatchback DX. I just purchased 17" wheels; I also purchased Tokiko Shocks/Struts, which will drop my car 1.75". Am I going to have a difficult time w/ rubbing? Will this work? A response would be appreciated. Thanks

True. Or if you can't get tires small enough to fit.

i have had 18's and 19's on my civic for like three years i never cooked my tranny. if u are goin for speed i wouldn't recommend 18's cause it takes longer to slow down and speed up. the speedometer i wouldn't worry about wondering if its right. i just followed the old one its not goin to be off by more then 10
