Hey guys,

I want to work on the appearance of my 2006 4 door black civic. As of now, I just have tints. Medium all over (can't recall the percentage but one above legal and one below limo tint).

I don't have any interest in upgrading the engine, exhausts etc. My interest is only appearance. My main goal is to keep it looking really simple and classy but still standing out. The other day I saw a beautiful maroon civic. He had done a great job on it.

Below is a list of things I want to possibly do:

1) HID - this is something I had learned long time ago. No matter what kind of car you have, if you have yellow lights it just doesn't look that good.

2) Lower I will do this before putting any rims. This makes a bigger difference in appearance than people realize. Are there any recommendations for how much I should drop and what company to use? I want to be able to drive the car the same way, not having to worry about 5 people sitting in the car. Obviously, driving slower on bumps etc is given. But I want good quality so there is no difference in suspension from the original parts.

3) Wheels I want to hold off on these for a while because they will cost a lot and I would rather put that money on other things.

4) Front bumper Not sure what I want to do. I don't want it to look like I have souped the car up. I want it to look original and changes to be subtle. Possibly a front lip? Any ideas?

5) Deck Lid Spoiler I was never big on spoilers, but this maroon civic I saw had one. It was very low to trunk lid - very classy. Really added to the car.

6) Remove Silver Honda from Front The front of the civic has a big "H" and a silver bar going across. I want to just remove all of that and put a nice grill or something. Just something very simple.

7) Antenna I'm a sucker for antennas. I like those long silver antennas that police cars have. I think they make a car look really cool.

8) Tints I was thinking of getting half of the car limo tinted - Back windows and the two rear windows. But I don't want to be getting pulled over and ticketed or any of that stuff. Initially when I got medium I thought that would be a problem, but no one even seems to care. Anyone have limo tints and had problems before? I only plan to do half. Or maybe even just the back window, because that stops the light from going through and makes the whole car darker.

With the front bumper, i would go with the 09, not only does it fit but even honda has its own lip that really makes it pop.

Wheels, i would wait on lowering the car because it would look a little funny
Just save you money and do it all at once.

The spoiler, again honda makes 3 or 4 diff spoiler's for your civic ( even the one you saw on the other civic)

Antenna............i just dont under stand this question, if you want one just get a CB.

Tints, not a big fan of them, the cop's always bother me for them so i stay far away.

The front grill, well you could go to ebay and pick up a crabon fiber frill and while you are at it also pick up the front Type R badge's, that should really make your ride stick out.

 

Your gonna get hated on like crazy for telling him to get Type-R badges, Splat. In one of my threads I was talking about how I wanted to get them, and I got flamed by several people for it.

 

Thats what i rock, i dont see why putting red H's on a civic is a bad thing......just as long as its OEM not that sheap crap that will fade in 2 weeks.

The CB antenna is exactly what is was talking about! I didn't know what it was called. Thanks.

Can you recommend a website I can get it from? I am attaching a picture, I want this kind. And obviously I will not hook it up. I will just mount it for appearance but keep using my built in one.
I was thinking of mounting it next to my trunk lid, or on the trunk. What do you think? Any other ideas of where to mount?

The ones you showed would just stick out and look bad. And I must say, I'm curious to why you'd get a CB antenna and not run a cb?

And I would have to agree with Splat - Do the rims and drop at the same time. Lowered cars with stock rims look funny.
