just go to your local automotive stereo store and ask for a mounting kit for your year and make for an aftermarket stereo deck.

depending on the size of your stereo, you might not need a mounting kit. You can also keep the stock stereo in and keep your dome light and security features.

he's got a 97 dx, unless he upgraded his dx package, he has no security, therefore no problems with dome light or security system, plus, not a good idea with the cd player in the lower section because of cupholder and if he drives stick, it will be in the way, you do need a mounting kit for your deck because the space is too large for the cd player.

i have had my cd player down there for 2 years now and i havent had any problems those are my pictures and i drive stick. NO problems what so ever. My cd player required no mounting kit. i used the metal bracket they gave me with the stereo to fit it into the lower area. Its a lot cheaper than buying all the hardware needed to install it on top. So dont knock it until you try it.

that's fine if you like it like that, i'm not knocking the mounting location, but you need the stereo closer to the windshield because it is too much of a distraction for the driver to have to look down every time to mess with it. the mounting kit is only there to cover up the oddly shaped hole. p.s.: i've tried it, plus in other vehicles.
