Default The age old grille question...

The other night, I got in the car to start it up. I turned the key, there was a loud "thunk" from under the hood, and then I had no power, no lights, nothing. I opened the hood and the power came back on. Turns out that the positive battery cable jumped off the terminal for whatever reason.

Well, I slammed the hood and my Honda emblem flew right off the grille. I don't even want to bother figuring out how to glue it back on, so I figure I might as well go for a cheap appearance mod and swap grilles. The question is this: Which style?

There's the Type R style:

Mugen Style?

There are "chrome" grilles, black grilles, mesh grilles in criss-cross style, mesh grilles in a hexagon style, and I don't even know what else.

I have a gold 2000 LX sedan. I'd like your opinions on what style would look the cleanest on that. What do you think about colors, too? Chrome? Black? Silver?

Well, usually what I do when making a decision is I look at the items, decide which one I like, and just go for it.

There's probably now 1million posts on "Which grill?" or "Which lip?" or "Should I buy these Altezzas?". Actually, I'm pretty sure this is exactly number 1million.

What most people will tell you is it's your car so it's your decision.

No matter what you do to your car, not everybody is going to like it. There's always going to be haters. Best thing to do is just make your car look good to you and roll with it.

I agree, in the end it's my decision. But, I really would like input from others. I, too, have always thought the Mugen grille looked goofy, so it's already out.

So, Type R. I liked that style because I wanted to get the Type R front and rear lips.

Color matched, yes. But, on a gold Civic, should I get one with the fake chrome look around the edges, like stock, or go for one solid color?

I'm not sure what to do with the chrome or not. You should take a trip to the chop shop and have somebody let you see what it looks like.

Yeah, the mugen grill is goofy looking.

I think the chrome looks like crap, that's why I said colormatched
I don't think you can even GET the type-R grill in chrome....
