body kits
Hey guys
I'm looking at a body kit for my car. Its made by Wings west and costs $800 Canadian. I was just wondering if anyone knows how much these things might cost to paint? I'm getting some shops that say $800 which sounds high to me, but other say $1400 which seems insanely high to me. I think it just needs to be primed and painted....pretty simple job. Do they use special primer and paint on the poly these things are made out of?

It depends on the amount of work to put it on really. $800 does sound a little high, but its almost about there..depends were your asking right. Try searching around for the little man who doesnt have much overhead costs.
it all depends it if is show quality then 800 is about right they have to fit it and get it to line up perfect and do any body work to it if it needs need (which most kits do).
if u just want them to prime and paint it take it to them to so they can see it and tell them u just want it primed and painted cost will probably go down

he said it was poly i belive so their are no fitment issues, its just bolt on body kit, $800 is too expensive in my opinion, and are they crazy $1400, im getting my whole car painted crystal black with my urethane body kit for $1500, and hes not bull**** because my friend got his bumper, eyelids and a scratch taken care off for a resonable price and it cmae out excellent and the guy has a small booth...... just look around at more places ull find one and make sure u chekc their work and since u have a polyurethane kit make sure that they use flex primer, cause i they use regular primer ur paint will start to crack
Thanks for the replies guys. I live in Canada though and costs are slightly higher up here because of the weaker dollar and all so you have to take that into account. My car is a 1996 Civic Sedan, pic attached (its the blue one). The other pic I attached is a simalar car with the kit I want to buy.
I am painting the kit the same as the stock color. I may prime the thing myself if I can't get a better deal than $800. There should be no fitment issues since I've heard good things about Wings West kits, and also it is a urethane kit.
