you don't even need the whole kit, just use a wire brush or something to clean off the surface, then paint
advance auto parts in titusville sells Duplicolor caliper paint by itself
just use that

it hasn't for me
i used black though, so any flaking is less noticeable
my goal was just to get the calipers and the edges of the rotor (non-pad contact area) looking clean... before the paint they would just rust

idk, 5 bucks

if you're gonna do a color, like red to match your car, i'd get the whole kit. the only color i would skimp on and use just the paint is black

you don't need the kit, just use a lot of brake cleaner, a lot of elbow grease, and a wire brush. Mine have been painted red on my front calipers for the past...probably 2.5 years. Zero flaking and zero fade. I am thinking of redoing them, but that's only because I want to change colors. The kits they sell are a waste imo.

so it sounds like cleaning the brakes before you paint them is a huge must?
