I just bought a carbon hood. I was wondering if I could just use the factory latch, and if it mounts to the existing hood hindges.

 

yeah, it should, but what brand is it? most require the install of hood pins for safety. only VIS doesnt.

 

yeah i was gonna get VIS ... but im a cheap ***.... I got it from EBAY.

also you might want to fabricate a hood support (for when the hood is raised) for the opposite side of the engine bay so that you have two. Lesser quality hoods are prone to warp if they are only supported on one side.
