Default Installing hood pins in Carbon Fiber Hood

Anyone have any good tips or suggestions for drilling my CF hood to install hood pins? I have never done this before and want to make sure that I don't end up with a huge crack running through the damn thing.

Thanks

Leviii,

Thanks for the info. I was also thinking that it might help to put some good tape top and bottom as well.

yeah what these both guys just mentioned...xcept that i used a dremel with my carbon fiber hood and a small drill bit.......be gentle when applying force and hold the drill frim.........screws should also be placed in gently and not all the way settled in, give it a couple of mm in slack......just in case if you ever need to remove the hood pin assembley the screw holes are not completely bored out......have fun

Makes me think do I really want a CF hood, how hard is it to mount with stock hood part, or is it better going with hood pins, and does that mean anybody can just pop your hood?

no, it still uses the stock latch. the pins are because the latches are known to occasionally rip out of the hood and it flys up, so the pins are an added safety precaution.
