carbon hood install problems

Default carbon hood install problems

I installed a carbon bonnet (hood) on my civic today,Im having problems trying to close it though. Everything seems to line up ok but it wont close on the latch properly. im having to sit on the bonnet to close it which cant be good. the latch must be ok cos it worked perfectly before. can anybody help?

could it be the latch on the hood not long enoph to reach and lock in when closed down?

Does the hood clear every thing in the engine bay like your old hood? Like mill$civic Check that, when you sit on it does it go to far closed, that latch might be able to be adjusted, also check the rubber bumpers that toch the hood the may need adjustment Thats all i got for ideas

is it a VIS hood, that could be a problem right there, they are gaurenteed to fit , try messing around with the latch if you can

Its a seibon bonnet so its good quality, got it second hand from a written off civic, hope its not bent although dont see how it could be being as carbon doesnt really bend. think it must be something to do with the latch.

When you do get it closed does everything line up right??? I'm thinking it is those rubber adjusters holding it from latching. Good luck

Yeah it lines up ok but seems to overhang a little more than it should, oh well its going in the bodyshop anyway on monday so il get him to sort it. If not then il have to get a refund on it which would be a shame as it looks so nice on my civic.
