Cheap Paint
their like circuit city at installing things. they do it quick and unprofessional like, just to get it done. seriously, this is one of those things where you get what you paid for. if you only pay like 600, expect to get a 600$ paint job that will chip and fade in no time. pay over 1grand and now you'll be looking at a better paint job that will really stand out..
Yeah man, this local dude brought his brand new Evo into maaco, straight off the lot. He literally bought and picked up the car, and drove straight to Maaco for his custom paint job....It's been 4 months, and 3 different strip downs/re-paints and he's still not satisfied.
He only had to pay for the first time, but talk about aggravation..
I suggest looking elsewhere.

I had a buddy who got his 73' Bronco painted at Maaco. They did a terrible job, there was all kinds of runs in the paint, chips, LOTS AND LOTS of overspray (on the windows and tires and rims and whatnot. Maaco is extremely shady!
Maybe try paiting it yourself. Painting is something that takes alot of work and time. It also takes experiance but you could learn. You will need a compressor and a spray gun as well as a place to spray (your home garage would work). I dunno if you wanna do it, but I think after a little practice painting stuff, you could move up to your own car.
basically what i did... hint.. line the garage with plastic, when your done, toss it.. easy clean.. want to know more see my galery

My teacher told us about the time he made a paint booth in his garage. Got big sheets of plastic and ductaped them to the floor and roof. Then he got two cheapy fans and some filters. Said it worked really good, at the end he jus tossed the fans and the plastic. He had a really old mustang convertable. It is really nice looking, the paint is pretty damn good on it as well.
Macco is not that bad... That is so bogus.
My dad had his camaro painted there like 5-6 yrs ago and the paint looks great still!
When painting there are 2 things to remember.
1. You get what you pay for (unless you have connections)
2. Your paint needs maintained just like the rest of your car, take care of it and it will last. (regular wash and wax)
