chequer plating any tips

removed the carpets from my 92 civic sedan and am puttin down chequer plating on the entire floor area has anyone ever done this if so any tips

Diamond plate? Kind of old school if you ask me. Plus you're adding weight. I like the carbon fiber look vinyl that I have seen done alot lately.

ya but the floor isnt straight so i need to make the floor straight and it just wouldn look great wit carpet or vinyl
