Anybody heard of the clear coat cracking? I have a 2000 Honda Civic SI and the Auto Body Shop told me alot of them do it. Especially on the hood. I'm gonna get the car buffed for a smooth look anyway and he said he could make it look good but it would just happen again. It also did it on the roof. I thinkin about a carbon fiber hood. Anybody know where to get a good price? Post a link if so.

 

Also he said he would wet sand the roof and it shouldn't do it again but he garunteed the hood would do it again.

 

thats odd. i have some oxidation on my hood but thats all due to red paint.

 

check ebay, they have CF hoods dont they?

I have a 95 and its getting pretty bad on the hood. 4 out of the 6 hondas i looked at before i bought mine had the same problem. Im definitly not too psyched on it. I think im gonna get it repainted soon.

 

it prolly gets worse when you live in an area thats really hott all the time.

 

Yeah, my hood has it too. They're very fine and you can really only see them after a wax.

 

i read an article on how to fix this... its like the sun swirls... ill see if i can find it..but i think it was in super street mag.. not online...look it up

 

Yea, he also said it was only visible after waxing and he said something about a colored wax so it wouldn't show up as bad. Is there such a thing?
