It HAS been done, just in a much better looking, cleaner manor. It's called a harness, like justinwebb has. They come in all kind of colors, red, green, black, blue, etc.. Stop trying to be cheap and save some pennies to do it right and have it look good. Sure it might be unique, but it'll be ugly and the color probably wont last...

OP, your best bet is a set of harnesses as many have stated.

 

but dont get them if you dont have a harness bar cause its super dangerous without the bar. Do it right or not at all.
