Played football last night with a bunch of guys (I'm a center) and was just humiliating some kid trying to work me as the nose guard. Basically abused the kid all night and afterwards alot of the guys from the game and their wives went out to a party so Eve and I went along... I was talking to a guy at the table across from me and turns out he is the chump I was owning!

I asked him what he does and it turns out he and his brothers own a car accessory wholesale business here in Portland. He told me he also does LEATHER REUPHOLSTERY for newer cars on the side! Totally stoked, I asked how much he'd do a rear bench for a civic sedan and he told me he'd do it for his cost in the leather (Black w/silver piping is what I am thinking) plus his time for install...

So I am looking at about 250 to get my rear bench leathered out and he even said he'd sew in a big ol Kanji for "ryu" or "dragon" for me once he learned I rock the Japan action! He cant cut deals on racing seats but he can sell it wholesale to me (which is dang cheap, I guess).


So for a blue (b96p) civic sedan with gray interior and currently gray cloth seats, what would you guys recommend for leather color and trim? I am thinking solid black leather with silver piping would look great with some black racing seats in the front. Your thoughts?

personally i really like that tan leather with the blue exterior. but the black doesn't sound bad at all, especailly with some racing seats.

 

I personally would do the tan, but the interior of my car is already black and gray. If I tan leather all over then i'd have to re do the whole inside of the car... I am thinking of black leather and in the lumbar area have a patch of silver and then have the piping in silver.

OR I will follow the Pimp My Ride tradition and get some salmon skin upholstery all over the car!

 

someone was asking about getting there seats recoverd a wile ago and forty posted a link where you can go in and make your own seat and see it, PM him and see if you can get that link off of him..it was a really good site to get different ideas from

i would make go with black on the outside part, and the center a dark blue to match the car

 

id go wit somethin safe just in case u decide in the future to change the color of the car or somethin str8 up black or tan is always a good choice......

 

dude thats sweet. you owned a guy then he is cutting you a deal on reupholstory. i would go with the black leather, that would look sweet.

 

Who woulda known, huh?! I was the one who started the reupholstery thread several months ago and I got a quote from that other business... 650 for just the back bench! I can get it from my new found friend for almost half!
