Hey Guys

My rear brakes (Drums) are showing little signs of rust, this usually dont bother me but i would like to try and clean them up a bit. Can/should this be done or should i leave well alone??

If you mean rust on the outside of your drum, there's no problem cleaning it up and painting it.

Use a high temperature paint. It may be possible to use rim paint(more color choices). However you can replace the drum, as I am doing this weekend , with some Brembo drums. They look nice(i'll post pics soon) and they cost 57.00 for the pair from Nopi. Nice silver look too.

Make sure you use high temperature paint since the drums can get quite hot.

I just used regular spray paint on the drums on my old car. Turned out looking fine and never chipped off. Just make sure you use plenty of newspaper to cover the rear suspension and fender areas. Trust me, the paint gets everywhere that you don't cover up. It always finds a way.

its very simple to take off the rear drums... once you take off the wheel, you just pull... that way you dont have to tape it off. just try not to get any paint on the inside where the shoes ride.
