on my 91 hatch i used a sand blaster to clean intake manifold and valve cover then primed and painted
on my sedan i used prep all it removes all grease and wax
then i primed with duplicolor primer very lightly and took my time spray a little bit then wait like 10-12 mins then add another coat.
then i used duplicolor paint and painted with 7 coats
then aded a couple coats of clear. and waited 1 full day to dry
then i used sand paper to sand paint off letters. then washed and installed.

I'm sure if you took a bottle of armor all and went nuts on your bay it would look the same lol

mines filthy but here it is

check your local detailing shops, if your in the pittsburgh area, doubletake auto has a platinum package for like 200 bucks and they will scrub your interior carpets, seats, ect, clean your whole engine bay, all kinds of stuff. now im a clean freak when it comes to my car, i clean off my dash and stuff liek that everytime i get in the car, but..... the previous owner has the carpets all stained up and i bought racing seats mad cheap but their stained up, looks like oil or greese, but either way, for 200 bucks to have a clean car inside and out, its totally worth it. now if you want to dress up your engine and make it stand out, heres what you can do

1. do up your valve cover really nice
2. ngk plug wires (my cars blue so i got blue )
3. polished or chrome intake
4. degreese the hell out of it / keep it clean

now if you want to go all out, you can mod it out to match your particular color sceme, get a timing belt cover with the holes on the side to show the cam gears, upgrade your cam gears and get a color to match, strut bar, depending on the engine, you can get meshies, i dont know much about em but i dont think they go on all motors, correct me if im wrong?? i dont even knwo what pourpose they serve lol, but its all up to you, pick your style, color, and budget and go for it.

Rubbing compound and a good rag get the bay to look nice and clean.
