Yes, i took that bolt out. there isnt one there. it is on my bench.

We tried insanly hard to get that thing down off there. Ill try beating at it with a hammer but its sitting on the cv axle.

Yea you don't need spring compressors. It's ten times easier to use a jack to compress the shock while it's still on the car, then loosen the nut at the top of the piston. Then lower the jack and it all comes apart. Then unbolt the shock from the car and remove.

Well since you removed the nut on top of the upper mount, the spring has expanded.


Now you will have to separate the lower ball joint from the lower control arm to gain the spacing needed to get the shock fork out.

it seprates. its very easy. i did my whole stock suspensio to coilover swap in 30 mins.
in my front yard with just a hammer and a few sockets.

I know! lol thats what i thought when i was reading it! I lifted that **** up. I undid the bolts. I lowered that **** and then i took off the fork bolt and LCA bolt and BAM it came down and is like that. I pried and pried to get the room to get the fork off and it wont go.

Oh... your problem is that the strut is seized in the strut fork. Yea, you're screwed. You're gonna have to unbolt the upper control arm or something.

Nah man cause the strut moves up and down in the fork just not enough to get it out. But ****, should i get some spring comp.?

That's strange. Both times I have done it, I was able to get it out. I think what I did was I had someone push down on the brake/hub area with their foot to give a little more room to get the shock out.

itll work if the spring has enough tension on it as i would simply raise the shocks and remove the fork. But i dont have $15 to rent them for a day.. lol
