word^ I'd lose my mind if my car wasn't shiny

Also, to the dude that made the "wax ruining it" comment, read back through my original post. It still has a clear coat, its just not glossy. Wax away

My mistake, I thought he was talking just primering it.

Would that flat paint you guys posted fade in time, though? I've heard stories of people having to repaint their cars every few years with flat paint because the sun kills the paint.

(and Forty, that Carrera GT you posted is f***ing sick)

this flat paint and clear coat is suppost to hold up very good not like primer that will let water penetrate it

Yeah....primer would in fact fade/let water penetrate/etc...this hot rod flatz is just like a "normal" paint job. Holds up to the weather the same and all...its just a flat finish.

ya if i was going to do a flat color job i would use that flat black stuff! anything grey just looks to much like cheap primer IMO...

i tried to do a flat color paint job on my old truck by just overspaying the crap outta it.LOL it worked... BUT after a year the last overspray layer started flaking off... but it was just paint, no clear. tho it did look sweet for the 1st year!

i loved it while it lasted!!!!!
flat colors just seem to grab the sun and my paint had a flake in the paint so it REALY glimmered preaty sweet IMO.
but after awhile the overspray layer flaked off leaving the shiny paint under it visable which just didnt look right
and i never felt like sanding the paint and buffing it all to a shine and sold the truck like that.
