getting a mettalic black paint job on my 92 civic lx. im getting a polyurethane kit put on and painted with the flex primmer, side moldings taken off and filled as well, honda symbols taken off and filled as well, this paint job includes all door jams, cracks, trunk basically everything except under hood. 2-3 clear coats with 3-4 base coats. although this is not in a booth ive seen the guys work and its pretty impressive. guy wants $1300.00 , is this a good deal???

 

I got the 92 Dx civic and It sounds pretty good to me.I figured after I did my civic labor and materials was around 1400.I did all the work on mine body work wise.door guards,rain guards,molded my kit to body plus 3 coats primer 6 coats paint.

how many coats of primer are decent for a paint job?

 

Well for as much body work I did I need to be able to see how close I was to getting it to look good.I did the total car 3 times but I spot primered alot.How far do you plan on going all the way down to metal?I would say twice or more For as much body work you are planing.
