I finally did decide to get the completly clear tails for my '99 ex, i just put them in but the thing is i need red bulbs because you cant see s*** when you break...this may have been posted before i tried doing a search but nothing came up, can anyone tell me the bulb sizes i need? Ill put some pics up of my civic soon...thanks

im pretty sure u wont get botherd THAT bad as long as u have the proper color bulbs. Some stats are more harsh than others.

Just go to the parts store with the bulb that's in there now and look for a colored one. You are nuts driving around with white tails and brake lights. People are careless enough without being able to see you slowing down.

 

Spray paint some bulbs red temporarily until you find the correct bulbs.

 

If they arent stamped with the States Inspection codes like the OEM ones, they wont pass Emissions/Inspection, and you'll get pulled over for them. If its a 99, I'm pretty sure the bulb size is 4157, or 3157. If they are the 3157's, then the 3156 will fit, but they dont have the Lo/Hi, they are only Lo's. Go to a Pep-Boys, or Advance autoparts, and they have a guide with all the numbers in there. I cant remember the number off hand, but those numbers are close.

 

Youll get pulled over cause it doesnt have red reflctors, not cause of the color, so when its parked at night people can see it.

 

yea LEVIII is right its all about the reflectors, but hey the only reason you'll get pulled over is because some cop feels like being an ******* that day because for some reason they didn't have any jelly donuts when he came into work, good luck man!
