Quick question. Is it bad to hold down high beams at the same time lows are on. You know when you use em to flash someone in case theirs was left on upon oncoming traffic. Will it decrease life time or is it just normal.

 

I would say that it would just cause a little more strain on the voltage being taken to power both at the same time. I don't really think there would be any problems with it.

 

yeah im just wondering because i notice i do it alot when im driving because when i do hold it down it doesnt fully activate the high beams but illuminates more of the road without blindin other passengers. it like a small habit i have for some reason.

 

I think what you are doing is really a courtesy though, i know i was driving home from work one night and people kept doing that to me that's because i was totally driving w/o my headlights on and i didn't even know it. I realized when i pulled up to my garage door and nothing shown on them. I smiled and giggled and realized taht's what those crazy people are talking about.

I think it's also kinda used to let people know if there is a cop nearby, i know i have seen it used in that way as well. Just i'm sure that people do that out of the cops vision so they don't know someone is giving them away.

 

Yeah I do that all time time esp when traffic is bad and they either wanna enter or exit so I flash beams and signal. Usually most people get where I'm coming from.
