Help choosing rims and painting lights
Hey, what's up guys? It's my first post here...i just bought a 2000 honda civic ex coupe and im in love with it. I've been studying this site religously and been modding my car since the first day i got it. It's time for me to get some rims and i was wondering whether i could get some input on what you think would look best on my ride. Ill post a picture of my car later but it's silver with black tinted windows and soon to be painted black tail lights. I wanted to go with a black and silver theme and was thinking of the 15" XXR 501 in black or XXR 513 in black http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/pts/697009896.html I was also wondering if anyone knows of any places in or close to LA that would paint my back tail lights. I was thinking of tinting them but i heard that over time it starts to look bad because the tint gets old. I visited a shop near by and they told me 300 for both but im looking for something cheaper. Thanks and i look forward to posting more!

Use VHT Nightshade tint to tint your tails.. I have a few guides on how to do it. Its really not that hard, just takes some patience.

Ok don't paint your tail lights
Seriously. The first ticket you get for them, or the second that you realize that it looks retarded, you'll have to take care of them and that means..........REPLACING THEM
If you do anything, just get tint film and do it that way. it's cheaper. Much cheaper.
And as for wheels, I think you can do better.

Yea i thought about the rims and im planning on something different. If anyone can suggest some nice 15 inch black rims that would be great, a reasonable price wouldn't hurt either If i tint my lights using the spray how good is the quality? Will it look nice? Also is it illegal to tint them?

RE: Help choosing rims and painting lights
well painting with the spray tint the good stuff VHT. ONLY STUFF YOU SHOULD TRY.....
you can simply sand the tint right off and just wax up the taillights to look stock... ive done mine several times...
BUT ANYWAYS.... ask cops before tinting your tails.... if you tint them the ticket will suck!! and then you gotta sand it alll off.... its not hard to sand it off but i sugest using 2K grit sandpaper.... takes maybe 1/2 -1 hour to sand them all off and wax them back to a shine.
but definatly ask some cops first.... MOST STATES MUST HAVE "reflectors visable" front and rear... tinting over them is still a risk of a ticket. i had mine before and will tint them again but i need to do some custom lighting in mine to be safer during day time driving... at night the tinted taillights are fine as long as ya dont go to dark.
