Default Help with wiring

Hey everybody.

I want to do this DIY but he never finished the wiring. I have no experience in this area and definitely don't want to mess anything in my car up. Can anyone help me out? I need the basics of wiring and how to install a switch.

It's pretty straightforward. Tap the positive wire from something like the cigarette lighter/power adapter. Run a ground wire to the ground off the cig adapter or to the frame. Doesn't matter.

All the red wires off the LEDs get wired together to make one red wire. All the black ones off the LEDs go to a single black wire.

Here's where the switch comes in. A switch breaks the line on one of the wires, positive or ground. Doesn't matter which. Pick one, positive for example. The red wire off the LEDs goes to one terminal on the switch. The other goes to the actual power source. The black wire off the LEDs goes to the ground source, either the ground on the cig adapter or the frame.

Ok some more dumb questions. How do you run the ground wire? If I tap into the power from the cig lighter will I still be able to use the cig lighter like normal? What's an "inline" fuse?

Ground wire is simple. Take a wire, use a screw or bolt to stick it to the the frame. Stick the other end to the LEDs. OR, cut into the black wire coming off the cig adapter, strip some of the cover off it, twist them together, and tape them up.

An inline fuse is exactly what it sounds like. A fuse that's on one of the lines. In this case, you would put an inline fuse on the positive wire if you wanted. But with LEDs drawing so little power, you don't need to.
