Default HID Headlights

Hi everyone,

I'm very new to the car customization scene as I'm a student who just got a Civic SI Coupe 2002, and would like to customize the headlights to HID lights for a better appearance.

I did read the thread at the top btw regarding this, but it didn't really answer my specific question.

When buying the lights I don't know what I should be looking for, brands, size of the bulbs, etc. They're all these terms for sizes, things like H1 or 9007 bulb etc and I don't really understand what's good and what to look for. All I know is I like the color of 10k HID lights, but I'm not even sure if they're legal here either.

Can anyone sort of fill me in? I'm looking to spend below $150CDN on HID's if possible.

Thanks !

Thanks, but as stated previously I've already read the thread, and I don't even know what kind of materials I would require for my specific car model.

your going to need to look for bulb size 9003 or H4. brands its really up to you. and i would not recommend 10000k HID's instead i recommend 6000k since the higher you go the more blue it would be and less light output lighting up the road

Like sfazngiants said, 10,000K isn't the best option. After 5,000K, (visible) light output actually decreases; that's why most stock HIDs are around 4,300K. 6,000K is the highest I'd recommend unless you're getting them just for the look, and at that point you're going to have to be willing to sacrifice visibility.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't know if there is somewhere I can check this because I can't really find info off google, but is it possible with my car to get bi-xenon kits? Also are plug n' play kits bad for the car?

i agree with reaper, after 6000 they start getting more blue and less visability on the road
