only way i can think of is to rip it out and to get rid of the sticky residue use something like goo gone.

Those are kinda nifty to have because they help protect other people's cars if you open your door too wide, but if you can peel them off... all you'll need to do is use this stuff called Goo Gone. It's a glue solvent. Works nicely.

Right. I'm sure it's paint safe. I used it when I debadged the car. No damage to the paint that wasn't there before.

Usually they have those colormatched to the body. I know they sell them to match too. Odd that yours didn't match.

The only way removing the strip will damage your paint in any way is if there's rust under the stripping. Given the way the bottom edge of your door (usually the 2nd place to rust on civics) looks in the picture, I'd say your car is fairly rust-free.

And yeah, goo-gone will take the glue right off.

I ripped a little piece of the plastic off just to test it. it wasnt even glue that stuck to the car. it was this foamy sticky stuff... i rubbed at it with my finger and it balled up and came right off. there's a little dirt line that i need to wash off now, but other than that.. everything is fine! and yeah, my car is 100% rust free. the guy that had it before me took amazing care of it. it almost seems brand new... other than a few dings in the paint here and there and a softball-sized dent on the nose of the hood from a jeep's spare tire. lol. atleast that was the story he told me.

anyway. i'm gonna go get changed out of my work clothes and go remove the rest of this ugly stuff. hah.
thanks guys.
