Default How to remove tar from the body?

Last weekend I washed and waxed the car. I noticed tar at couple of places on the body near two wheels. Initially I thought someone hit my car. My second thought was that the paint is cracking. The car is a 2009 Honda Civic. Looking at it closely now I know it is tar because I did manage to get it under my nail. :-)

Is there a clean and safe way to remove tar from the car body?

Thank you for any advise and help.

K

you can always use a claybar kit as well to remove it, followed up with some nice buffing as well. The bug and tar remover would work, but i am more of a fan of the clay.

I've been using dryer sheets for a few years to help get off stubborn bug guts and tar spots.
