Im painting my steelies black tomorrow and my hubcaps are f*cked, paint is off them..... I want to paint them too, just incase I dont like the steelie look.

Ill probably go with a silver paint for hubs, but how do I do it, I know I have to sand it, paint it, clear coat... but how do I make the plastic smooth again?

And will the paint wash off?

 

Like any hubcaps the paint will flake off eventually. I painted my caps white and it looked really good. I used the special spray paint that bonds to plastic. Then I used normal clear coat on top. With normal driving they will need to be repainted every 2 years.
