Legal Question
if you replace the lights on the license plate, the lights that illuminate it, from the nasty white/yellow/orange/ugly original color to a red bulb, will the cops pull you over and is it valid for a ticket? really i just want to know if it will validate a ticket, i did it to see what it looks like and you can see the plate and everything just fine, but cops are cops, and tickets are tickets.
Speaking for WI:
yes, those lights must be white (or nasty white).
reason: the police must be able to easily read the plate day or night, which is why smoked liscence plate covers are illegal too.

yeah haha i had blue LED's that i put on. i had them for about 3 months until last night when i got rolled and got an inspection ticket for them. im glad i didnt get a fine, but your right, they looked amazing.
red or blue would especially be illegal becasue thats "impersonating a police vehicle", i got pulled over for my old mirrors w/ blue LEDs in them, looked behind me and saw the cop had like the EXACT same mirrors haha and although cops probably dont have red or blue license plate lights, they would even call underbody neon that is blue or red impersonating an officer as well, just because the color of the lights. You wire some LEDs in the there on a switch to turn on when you are parked or something (hidden bulbs of course
), but driving i would turn them off

I second what ltkenbo said. Get oznium's ownage white bulbs and keep your red ones. Wire the red in with a switch if you like em so much, but don't run with them on the road. Cops are cops for sure and will pull people over just to break up a slow day.
