I tint windows among other accessory installations. I have been doing it for a long time and have NEVER seen a car that has the problem your talking about. He is just trying to keep from replacing it. I have tinted many Civics as well as other vehicles. He is screwing you. There is no vehicle that I cannot tint all the way up to the top. Granted there will be about a 1/32 gap at the top because if you let the tint overlap it will peel (I don't care what type of vehicle it is). It also depends on the type of tint. If he used cheap tint it will peel. I would not put anything on other than LLUMAR tint. It is the best with a factory lifetime warranty. If they don't use it, don't let them do it.
