do neon tubes get hot? streetglow 15inch tube? i dont wanna burn nothin up.

 

these will be going under the dash. if the neon tubes get hot, i guess ill get the l.e.d. ones. whats the difference anyway? i always thought that the l.e.d. ones looked like a bunch of dots in a row instead of one straight light like the tubes? do l.e.d. tubes look the same or what?

 

No, they have a protective plastic case that keeps the little heatthey make in. They're not wide or powerful enough to generate that much heat.

 

go with neon for under the dash, some leds look brighter some places and some neons look briter in others..for under the dash tho, neon lites look briter..and theres no heat to burn anything lol just reamber to fuse

 

Yeah, they just get a lil warm. Thats it.

 

oh ok just makin sure cause there was alot of wires and stuff where they would be going.

 

get l.e.ds, much better then neons..last alot longer andvery hard to break...

neon tubes can snap very easy

 

LED's do last longer. They can last over 10 years of being on continuously.
Neons do heat up but i would'nt be much of an issue.
But LED's are lighter and more durable than neon tubes. You dont have to be as careful where to place the LED tubes as they are extremely hard to break.
