Default Where to get power for neon lights

Hey everyone

I have a 2005 LG-G sedan and I am trying to find a power wire to splince into to power my neon lights for under the dash. I was going to splice into the cigarette lighter power but i can't seem to get to it.

Does anyone have any tips for easily splicing into a power source?

Thanks

Mahones

Is there a certain spot that's easy to get the power cord through the firewall?

thers really no need to ever splice into another power..u can always just run a line to the batt. like pcu said, u only splice when u feel real real lazy

make sure u put it on a switch too and like they said dont forget the fuse. if u dont use ur ciggy lighter, pretty much any pepboys type store has these circular switches that will fit right into where the stock cig lighter is (that thing pops right out by the way). it looks sooo sick. nice a clean.

chek out this website. u can get it without the led too if u dont want the glare... but seeing that you are installing neons under the dash... i guess u wouldnt mind. I use this switch as a kill switch to my power inverter for my ps2. great switch!

I would not suggest going to the battery as then it is possable to leave them on during the day and have a dead battery. Splicing into a power source is not being lazy, although I would say the best way to do it would be running it off the battery and hooking your switch to a realy and the power for the realy to an acc power so the light can only be on when the car is on.

ALthough all that realy stuff may be difficult if you hav e limited knowledge. Go to the acc wire off the key (ignition) switch and hook your own switch to it. That way it will never get bump on and your left with a dead batt

the best place to hook them up is the battery,if u have more things you want to hook up in the future, get a 8 gauge or 4 gauge and run if through the firewall to the battery then run it to somewere like under your seat or somthing, put a distrabution block on the end of it, then u can run wires from there (and dont forget to fuse the wires u run from the distribution block)..this way is much better then having tuns of wires running throught the fire wall, also alot neater.thats what i did in my 2000, i did it the other way with all seprate wires in my old car and its just a messsss, these r the l.e.ds i hook up..
