LEDs are brighter and more durable, the one thing is that you have to aim them at the ground, whereas neons give light off in any direction, which is convenient. Cathodes ftw! (check out www.oznium.com for more info on cold cathodes)

 

wow! that helped alot!.. cathodes all the way!.. exspecially for my interior neon

 

the only problem i could see with cathodes is hiding/mounting the transformer for every set of cathodes, but ist a small price to pay for BRIGHT light in all directions

alright thanks guyz.. does anyone have a D.I.Y for instaling lights?.. if not make one!! haha.. i think i wanna go with cathodes.. it cant be too hard to hide a little transformer.. and how big are the transformers?

 

neons burn out quicker than L.E.D.s do

 

One thing you might consider are LED Strips. Kinda the best of both worlds. You can bend and form the strips into whatever shape you want (within reason).
