Well this looked like a great community so I decided to join up. I am just getting into the honda civic world and thought I should start reading up on everything. Right now let me tell you what I have and what I am planning. I have a 02 civic si hatchback it is white and has nothing done to it at this point.

As for the exterior I was planning on getting a buddy club body kit and I was looking at that procivic.com website but I can only find the fiberglass with plastic kits instead of urethane which seems to be the better choice. So anything on that would be great. I am also considering maybe some 17in Rims probably gloss black or gunmetal, as for those do I need to lower the car to make those work or what is reccomended and what brand of tires? Maybe I should get 16's. Other then that I was looking at some CF hoods I am leaning towards the buddy club racing spec hood on procivic.com if anyone has opinions on that.

All of this is a bit away seeing that I am not used to the car yet and am really new to modding my vehicle. I just like to have goals to work towards I guess.

As for the interior I am not sure of what brand would be best to go with for seats I would like black or black/grey seats in it I like the feel of racing seats of normal ones they seem to give better support to my back. I was looking for some less the $500 for a pair though so I dont know if thats even possible. If anyone knows any good brands around that price.

As for mechanics I dont even know where to start. I am not a big street racer kind of guy at this point at least but I do like to have good performance and power in my vehicles just in case I guess. Seeing that I know pretty much nothing I dont want to say anything retarded. I have seen alot of stuff for cold air intakes. Didnt know if that might be a good upgrade. Also I have seen some exhaust upgrades which I would like to get a full/nicer exhaust so I dont look like an idiot like some of the guys around where I live that just have annoying tips on the exhaust so it sounds.....meh.

And before I end does anyone know the color of some of the civics ive seen. Its kinda orangish but maybe copper or something hinted or the other way around I am not sure really....I will try to find an example.

edit: Forgot to say I was thinking about getting maybe a 20% tint on everything will that do okay or should I tone it down on a certain area. I was reading and it sounded like everyone was pretty happy with 20%.

editx2 : wow I was looking through the forums more and noticed that this post should have spread over a few different sections. Hopefully the mods will find the best place for it. I thought I would add some more questions while I was at it.

If I have about $350 ish what exhaust system would you guys reccomend. I already started looking at the AEM v2 cai. One big question would be general information and reccomendations on a new suspension system so I can lower it and have better handling etc. Which kinds are good and how much should I lower it so normal driving.

 

WOW ..i dont no if im going to anser all your questions, but congrats on the purchais..for the body kit you sead it comes in ABS plastic?..get that, my rear lip is abs plastic and its really good materal, it wont brake or crack if you hit it lightly. and its flixible..not as good at polyurithan but its good, buddy club kits and sweet btw..the 02 is a bit of a bigger car,i would stick the with 17"rims, thats what i got on my car and no issues, love them..black would look pretty good on white, or look into gunmetal too..you dont have to lower your car but with a kit and rims your going to want to else its going to look off, you can get coilovers (check out the suspention part of the forum and search or springs, i would get coilovers if you have about a grand to spend on them, if not, just get some spings and shocks, here is what i always recomend..A set of Tein S-Tech will run you about $140 and it’s like a 1.8 drop but they work with your stock shocks. umm for racing seats if you want a good brand name pair like sparco your going to have to pay upward in the 1000 range for 2, you can go with like a cheaper company tho like APC (not somthing you want to buy tho) or just a no name brand company, there seats look really good just no name at the top of the seat..for performance everyone usually starts off with intake,header and exhust, AEM is good..check out the intake header and exhust part of the forum for more options, this questions been asked alot...for the color is a champane gold color,some civic have it..nice color, you dont see it to oftin..the white it better tho...i didnt go into much deatial about things, but search is your key..all of your questions are very populer so you wont have a problem finding old threads on them
