I'm thinking of changing the steering wheel for my civic because its big, ugly and hard. I'm looking for a new wheel that has a horn and air bag. Is the airbag in the wheel or colum? What are good companies that sell some steering wheels with air bag and horn capabilities? Is it hard to install on your own or should it be done by a mechanic?

no. dont do it. if you must change out your wheel, get a jdm one with an airbag in it. otherwise, i dont think any aftermarket steering wheels have airbags.

 

I just bought a S2000 steering wheel from a 01 AP1 S2000. i'll let you know how it goes.

 

It's in the wheel. If you wanna see what im talking about look at my DIY on removing your steering wheel in the DIY section. Yeah, most aftermarket steering wheels would no have an airbag.
