Default OEM vs After market Fender

Honda is charging me 165 for my passenger side fender for a civic 01 coupe. I checked around and I can get an after market one for about 30 bucks. Has anyone used and after market fender? How good did it match up to the other and is there any significant difference? Any advice would be extremly helpfull. I alrdy have my projector headlights coming in along withmy M3 lip. Ill post some pics up of the dammage in a few.

Probably on the rust protection will be the difference. If you aren't gonna keep it long, and things don't rust fast........go for it.

By the way, what M3 lip did you get? I'm thinking about one for the trunk instead of a wing.

I ordered it off ebay for 35 bucks shipped. I figure ill have it paited together with the fender and bumper.

Im also thinking about pulling my grill out and painting it black exept for the H symbol of course. I figure since I have the 5% tints and installing the black projectors it would match good.

Dont do the projectors, though! Keep it looking stock+1 by just blacking out the chrome in the headlights!

I already ordered the projectors but once i get my stock ones out Ill give it a try and see how they come out. Hopefully I wont mess em up. Ill prob have to use a bit of sand paper to fix up the left one since its so fogged up.

Have u tried out any of the after market fenders TheMoogly ?

I had AIT Racing frp (fiber-reinforced plastic)Z3 fenders at one point (actually, I'll be putting them back on my car in a few weeks when I get the car ready for paint) and they fit just fine... a few spider cracks here and there, but nothing a little fiberglass/bondo/whatever can't get rid of. And, they're 2 lbs less than stock each

honestly i would get it through honda u pay alot more but u have a garentee( how ever u spell it) the fitment will be perfect and it will last alot longer. i know a bunch of people that order body pannels for cheep prices and they either come cracked or chiped or something. so get the one from honda! remember u always get what u pay for!
