Default Painting my alloy's

I've got a 98 HX with factory alloy wheels. I was thinking about painting them black. Since they've never been painted and are in good shape, do I need to do anything beside prime and paint?

u need to sand off the paint thats already on there and also smooth out those curb rashes. if u dont, ur paint will peel/flake off in a short amount of time..

i say paint the spokes black or red (depending on the car color) and leave the lip and centercaps unpainted.

Clean those things like crazy. Use some kind of degreaser or something, a scrub brush, and then soap and warm water. Do that before you sand anything

I would see how much a shop would charge you to powder coat them.

That's a really good idea. Powder coating is very strong and won't chip or scratch nearly as readily as regular enamel or laquer type spray paints.
