Default painting my rims

hey guys i have a 99 ex and when i bought the car the rims were all scratched and i want them black so im going to paint them tomorrow i have a pretty good idea of what to do and what paint to get n sandpaper etc. but any suggestions on what to get and how to

just make sure the wheels are "CLEAN,CLEAN,CLEAN". can't say that enough. it's all in prep and cleaning. this might help though:

you need some soap to wash the wheels, index cards to prevent the paint from getting on the tires, paint, clear coat, primer, sand paper, maybe some painters paint and lots of patience... take your time and you will do it right, let it dry completely before putting back onto your car, painted my hx rims

ouch, did you even apply enough coats of paint, and you could have fixed the curbing, it's not that hard.

not too bad for a first try give the guy a break. Atleast since it's black you wont notice as much the curb rash. The first valve cover I painted didn't come out that good either. I didn't do as many coats of paint as I should of cause I was fearing drips. Didn't really notice untill after I clear coated. Make sure to have good light from different angles if you do it again.

Hey live 4it how many coats did you put on your valve cover? How long did it take you?

took me a while because my wheel lock split at the end so i had to get a new one

i took me a whole day from 11 am till about 630 - 7
