painting prices
Im looking to repaint the exterior of my 93 civic ex to a glossy black. It is already black but hasnt been painted since it was made and is starting to fade. Any idea how much id be looking at for a good paint job on the exterior only?
Also do most paint shops require you to rice and primer your car yourself or is it included?

I think maaco or something would be like 3-400 bucks maybe. I'm pretty sure they do it all for you but i'd recomend removing anything you dont want getting over spray on. headlights taillights. tape some trim pieces your self. they dont do the best job at prep work. but the paint is decent and cheep. You could prolly do it your self cheeper if want. it's not hard if you have the facilities.

if you paint is just dull just buy a power buffer and some ruff and fine rubber compound and have at the car shine the sucker up. just try to stay away from edges with the buffer because it will burn thru the paint easily on a corner.... so do the edges by hand.

a good paint job could run $2000 and something like Maaco with not so good prep work will run only about $500. so it really all depends on a lot of the places. prices will vary depending on quality of the work. ask around ask about their prices and see if you can see a painted car there
