Painting Rims Question.
I have white 17's that im about to strip and paint. My question is about the paint. I can only find heat resistant paint in flat or dull blacks, but if I use a regular metallic black paint and coat it in heat resistant clear coat will that be ok? Or will the flat black end up glossy after the clear coa is put on?
well....i dont know about heat resistant paint...but i used wheel paint which can be found at auto zone and other auto parts places..they also sell just a plain clear coat....The DIY is the best ive seen and works perfect...i would follow that as much as you can because i painted mine about 3 months ago and they still look great.
But do you know if the clear coat will bring any shine to the flat black under it? I bought Duplicolor rim paint. But if the clear wont make the flat glossy then I think im going to go back and buy the duplicolor metallic black paint that isnt heat resistant, and use heat resistant clear coat meant for the rims.
