Pics Of My Sub In Trunk Install!
I finished the DIY in my trunk!!! Here we go for pictures! I can write a DIY up but Remmy already has one for a 6th gen and mine is a 7th gen and there isnt too much to say unless you have questions... it was all super easy, just took time to do!
This is my trunk with all the crap out... the only thing to say about this is that I used a crowbar to remove the holder for the spare tire, popped right off but left a tiny hole I covered with some Tsunami and caulking!

We took the OEM felt and traced an outline on the MDF board (3/4)

That's my buddy who really did most of the work, he is a handyman and I am picture taker!

This was probably the hardest thing to figure out because it may have been too simple... we needed a hole small enough to put the sub in and allow us to bolt it... good ol string and a pencil!

We made sure it was going to fit... it did.

Used the screws to construct the box

Used TONS of caulking... pretty much squeeze a ton on it and drag your finger through to push it in the cracks

We used some unused pieces and a fan to hold up the box and dry it... it sat there for about 2 hours.

Now we made sure it fit.... and it DIDNT!! We forgot that the box was going to raise it up just above the rear strut, but I dont care because I dont need to show it off... it's a civic!

Now in Remmy's write up he says to use 4 yards... I also got 4 yards but 72" width so I HAD A TON left over.. so I carpeted the whole trunk by using the spray adhesive on the dynamat stuff and sticking the felt to it... ended up taking most of what was leftover so that is nice.

And in the end I took a shot of my trunk and I... good times... just finished it about 2 hours ago and it is SUPER LOUD!!!! I cant tell a difference between the original sub box and the one I have now! It really is great!

Ask anything you'd like about the install!

Looks good... I personally don't like the design/idea... only because I use my trunk... for ... uhhh... holding stuff. LOL. But, it looks like you did a great job...
I'm still trying to get mine taken care of... but I'm going to not do one where my sub can get damaged by things rolling around in the trunk.

Yeah thats why I stopped where it is now... I can put things around it and I have a huge space down on the flooring of the trunk to use.. it has given me a ton of more space. I have to use the civ as the grocery getter but I want loud music all the way so i feel that this is a good balance between the two
lookin good Moog. Did you ever have the sub set up in a normal box? If so, how does the sound compare with it facing normal compared to how it is now, firing upwards?
