The vinyl work and craftsmanshiplooks pretty bad. I myself would have taken the extra time and made the faceplate for the monitor and switch from a fiberglass mold...it would have made for a much cleaner install. But what the hell it matches the rest of your car.

yeh i thought about it but ive never worked with fibregalss before, i have a thing of resin though, i may give it a go at some point.. is it hard?

its not that bad, the door sits perfectly and opens smoothly and it all fits snug in the box, maybe the pics arnt doing it justice.

i think i will actually give the resin a go.. cover it in material first isnt it? then resin over the top?

Yes most people use fleece and stetch that over your wooden form, then resin on top of that. Then fill in the imperfections with bondo then primer, paint and clear....Like I said a little more work but a lot cleaner piece in the end. Good luck!

well the wood is just for like the frame.
and word of advice where you DONT WANT the resin to drip put down aluminum foil and tape around the overlayed pieces so it cannt run up under and into your carpet.
and if your making a form put the foil down first and tape all around it, DOUBLE LAYER FOIL it for easier to pop it out.... i tried the painters tape only.... and it was very hard to pop out.... then again i was fiberglassing the whole rear floor in my truck.LOL
but double layered foil worked great!!!! and it poped right loose . fiberglass isnt to hard to work with BUT first time you lay down resin and glass is definatly a learning experience. just force the resin into the glass mat or weave and push any bubbles out the sides... gets ALOT EASIER!
