Default RE: Primer!

Personally I like flat colors, but actual primer is gonna soak up anything that gets on it and end up messing up the paint when you finally get around to painting it.

I kept putting off painting the Mustang and rocked flat black primer for two years. I thought it looked tough but it probably ended up looking trailer park. I mean come on... a primered Mustang. I was so misguided.

I also would NOT mount anything (ie. bodykits) until its paiinted.
better to get it all mounted in primer and then paint it all at once than to have a painted car and a primer body kit.

ps- lose the red windshield wipers. I am the only one allowed to rock ricey red billet.

Yeah, paint is expensive. No way in hell would I ever pay 3 grand to get it done, but people do. You could find something really good for ~ $1,000, or if you aren't gonna eneter shows or anything, Maaco is like 300 bucks.

Or..... you could buy a compressor and a spray gun for ~ a buck-fifty and try that thing yourself.

Just the spray gun will be 150. I got my compressor for around $300 and i'm still saving up to get my spray gun. I jus scored a free trunk from my auto teacher that im gonna paint for practice. Now where do i get primer and paint cheap?

dont mount the kit until you can afford paint.

darkness is right. paint guns are not cheap. i paid $450 for my sata and that is cheap for one. sata guns are one of the best. also a compressor is $$$$ for a good one.

where im from in granite city IL we have all kinds of primered cars around here. we have a whole crew of talon awd turbos running around primer and the funny thing is they all work at pizza world and the cars had good paint jobs at first then one day they were all primer. we call it granite city race paint.
