My car is primered gray and I dont like it that much it needs clear coat or something.I dont drive the car.If you went down to metal wouldn't the rain seep through the sandable primer and cause rust.

 

For future reference, all prices that I quote, unless otherwise specified, are e-bay/pawn shop/used/second hand/refurbished/found on the side of the road/classifieds price. I very rarely pay retail.

 

The problem with my compressor is that it puts out 8.6 SCFM at 40PSI and all the good spray guns run at like 20-30 PSI with a lot more SCFM. I could put the pressure down, but i dunno how to figure out the SCFM at different pressures. I found a spray gun at Sears that is 40PSI and 8.5 SCFM, but i dunno if i should buy it. I wanna paint my own car but i don't know how i could get a good spray gun and where i can buy paint.

 

i would have to say i would only drive primer for as short of time as possible. i probably wouldnt primer more than a week before i was getting it painted

I dunno bout u guys but i like the primer look. Mine has been primed since the summer.But i've heard that satin / semi gloss black is nice looking too. I googled for pics of it....but couldn;t find any.

 

^ bleh [:'(] I dont understand the primer thing. It sets off my rice alarm. I wont drive my car with painted parts... Ill rock dings and dents all day before I put a new part unpainted. Whats funny is that it looks better haveing a painted dented part than an unpainted primered part.[:@]

 

id never drive a primed but un-painted car. id leave it in the shop for a month if i had to.
