I have an idea. If you don't want to take apart the dash, but want the blower motor to turn off when you want it to, you could just stick your head under the dash, and splice a cheap switch in the power wire going to the blower motor. turn the switch off and it'll turn off completely, turn it back on and it'll work like it does right now.
To make it easier to reach the switch, cut the power wire going to the blower motor, run a wire from each cut end to the preferred location of the switch, and then wire up your switch in that location.

LOL. I'm the guy that couldn't get his halos working. And still can't! How do you expect me to do this!! Although that is a great idea for a wire freindly person. Reinforcing my previous "you are a smart fellow".
Isn't there like a tonne of wires down there?

yea there's a lot of wires but i'm pretty sure the ones going to the blower motor are pretty distinguished. If you aren't good with wiring though, yea I wouldn't mess with that. lol
