Default Quick Body Kit Painting Question

How long should you wait between coats of primer, paint, and clear coat when you are painting a body kit?

If you are using automotive paint, just wait untill the primer is dry (you'll know, it dries fast), and wait a couple of hours between paint coats, then wait overnight before clear.

I painted all the race cars I've had (plymouth laser, couple of monte carlos0.

The paint should have come with a data sheet.

I'm not really sure...i've never painted anything before. Does automotive paint come in a spray can? I was going to just use spray paint and take my time, but i'm sure automotive paint would look much better.

Automotive paint requires an air compressor and a spray gun...

What color is your car? If it's white or black I would just use some quality spray paint if you don't have access to compressed air and a spray gun (as long as you do it right, it should be ok). If it's another color, it'll be more tricky because you'll have to match the color.

if you want to do it with automotive paint, your going to need what ^he sead, and its pretty expensive to get into and alot of things to learn before you start painting...do you no anybody with these? or what about bringing it to a shop to get it painted? ..you can get automotive paint in a spray can as well, go to a real automotive paint store and tell them what you are doing and you want it in a can, on the can will give the instructions ...doing it with automotive paint eather way will ensure a perfect color match and good quality

Yeah i was going to mention that i read that write up by Mossy and in that thread it sounded like you could just use a spray can. Yeah, luckily my car is black, so maybe some automotive paint would work just fine. I can't think of any of my friends that have a spray gun and air compressor, so i'll just go with automotive spray paint. I do have a friend that works at an auto shop so maybe i could get a deal from him, but i kind of wanted to do this myself because it seems like a good skill to have....how much does a spray can of automotive paint usually cost ya?

I rememebr somebody saying that you can find the color paint of your car on a little sticker on the inside of the door or something. Does anyone know where you can find the color paint you need?
