Default REdoing taillight lights AGAIN! baked apart 2mod ;)

well i know people have baked thier headlights apart to paint black which ill be doing preaty soon as well.....

BUT NOW i want to bake apart my taillights........

i just paid for some new taillights 120bucks for them.... cause i want to redue my lighting and MAYBE alittle different tinting on them... what i want to do is bake them apart and cut them up preaty much and fit ALOT of leds in them! and this time i wont touch the inner taillights..... cause now that i put a superflux led in that THIN middle section the chrome inside paint is flaking off the one side so its preaty much just a BAD IDEA in my part!!!!! so this time im gonna either MAKE or buy some premade led boards to squize into the stock lower clear section and MAYBE into the upper tinted part.... tho not likely... ill just keep them for running lights at night to shine thru the tint....

of course all leds gonna come from oznium my favorite site for new lighting.... [8D]

anyone baked the taillights apart for custom work? im just not sure how easy/hard it will be to pop these suckers apart....... ive thought about just cutting them apart but then i run into the problem with the inside silver/chrome flaking off again...

I havent, but it should be the same stuff as the headlights. I doubt that they would use a different type of glue for both.

Let me know how it turn out.

I dont know if it'd work, though... around the tails is a foam sealer (like styrofoam or something) that doesnt look easy to remove and will surely melt in an oven

I JUST HOPE it goes beter than my first headlight bake apart job. LMFAO i did my 96jimmy to remove the yellow reflector and i GUESS i rushed it to fast. LOL cause i busted the headlight in 3 pieces.LMFAO tho LUCKELY it was a clean break! and i was at least able to glue the sucker back together. hahahaha no one ever could tell..... and they yellow reflector was removed
I HOPE i can pull the yellow reflector out of the headlights as well on my civic!!!! ill try to pull them and MAYBE put in some clear reflectors in thier place... but thats another part of this project......

i wont bake apart the inner taillights... only the outter taillights!

WELL good news bad news........
good news.... THE outter taillight bakes right apart!!!!
bad news...... THE inner taillights DONT WANNA. LMFAO busted it VERY EASILY!!!!! thiers just to many clips on it in a tight area...

but good news at least i got the new taillights
and the inner taillights have a preaty large light displacement lense... so MAYBE ill be able to use it to help even out the light beter.... have to experiment alittle more!

well tried alittle light... and NO this color will not stay in thier.LOL but i only have green and blue flexstrips...

SO i have to order some new ones... in red and some yellow....
i figure ill load as many of these strips in the tails that i can. and for the turn signals yellow ill have one strip towards the middle, then another red strip and then another yellow strip... so i figure i can get ruffly 7 or 8.... 9.5inch flexstrips in each taillight...

and this picture is only with ONE 9.5inch flexstrip.... looks preaty good with just the flexstrips in thier
