Default Remmy's Sub DIY

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has used the DIY on the sub box that Remmy made... I am really thinking about doing that but I have no skill in anything but linguistics and business... how easy was it to make that box in your trunk? how long does it take? does it still hold up nice now? how does the sound compare to having the original box? How do you keep things from falling on it? How easy was it to wire it up after it was in the box?

I am thinking this might be the first thing I actually do myself other than change the lightbulbs! Let me know if this is a complete novice worthy job.

I wouldn't do it unless you've worked with wood and stuff before. Someone who doesn't know how to properly lay out and cut pieces of wood (in this case, a wood product called MDF) can make a real hackjob out of it.

But, if you take your time, and use common sense, it should be fine.

Would it be pretty pricey to get a shop to build that for me? I really dont like feeling failure, especially with something that has instructions!

Try it yourself MDF is cheap...a show would charge u too much man. I did that to my car before, but i didnt like how it sounded compared to a reg box position. It sounded good, but not as good as it does now.

What is MDF? And did you finally take it apart and put it back in its original box? I have my whole car dynamatted so my sub is pretty loud as is... in some areas my trunk has two layers. Would it still not sound as good?

It is on the DIY forum... Remmy made a DIY for a sub box that sits flush on the ground. I thought it looked really good but I am nervous to do it myself cuz I suck at crafts... How would I protect the sub, though, from things falling onto it?
